Goal Setting for 2020!

I thought 2020 was going to start off with fireworks and a sprint towards success and my wildest dreams. Turns out, it's just another year. And I am still not a great runner.

The beginning of the year is full of HYPE. And I love hype. I am an excitable person. But I am looking to my left and to my right and feeling like...I'm definitely not doing this right.

LUCKILY, every day is an opportunity to start something new and we are all moving towards success and our wildest dreams at our own speed. If you missed a workout, spent too much money, cursed in front of your coworkers, used a plastic bag even though you have 1,000 reusable bags or anything else I have already done in the 9 days of the new year...you're still qualified to win.

Below are some of my goals for 2020 broken down by category!

Relationship Goals

  • Family: This goal is a difficult one for me, so I will keep it short. I do not have much of a relationship with my family or my in-laws. This year, I would like to continue focusing on building strong communication lines with my partner and supporting each others needs and goals.

  • Friends: I WANT TO SEE MY FRIENDS MORE

Health Goals

  • Mental/ Emotional: I want to take actual breaks instead of multi-tasking breaks. This means resting when I need rest and working when I am able to work.

  • Physical: I want to make and keep appointments with my doctors, dentists, optometrists, and other body workers. I cannot keep bailing on these things because I do not want to face the fact that I am not 100% healthy at all times

  • Fitness: I wanted to put this under “health goals” because working out supports my health in several ways. While I do a lot of physical movement for my job, I have allowed my own movement practices to fall by the wayside. My goal is to move more for myself in ways that I enjoy. This means making time to take classes or hit the gym on my own. This could go under mental, emotional, and physical health

Personal/ Spiritual Goals: I want to do more reading this year. I like to think of myself as a non-fiction reader but I think I would also like to read more for pleasure, even if it's fiction. I would also like to lead and participate in more meditation activities.

Career Goals: I would love to keep teaching my fitness classes because they bring me joy. I am looking for more personal training clients for this year to help build that side of my business. I would like to host more financial groups and individual financial information sessions.

Educational Goals: I would LOVE to look into continued education in fitness for trauma informed training and body positive training. I know there are a few of these programs but I need to figure out when to schedule them.

I have access to a good amount of information online about building a website and taking photos, I just need to DO THEM. I would like to learn more about adobe programs since we have them on our computers and Scott has more knowledge than I do.

Financial Goals: This is probably the most daunting and exciting goal. Maybe because I feel like it hinges on some of the goals above. I want to have a down payment for a house in 2020. That does not necessarily mean we will purchase a home, but I want to be able to purchase one when we are ready.

The home price we are looking for if we stay in the Philadelphia area is $280,000. I would like to have a down payment of $56,000 or 20%

Fun Goal: I want to travel more this year. We already booked our first trip to New Orleans for spring. Part of my personality allows me to work on things out of joy, but then I become depleted. This year, I want to plan ahead and plan for some more experiences of pure joy!
