Wellness for Black Womxn

We are deep into this global pandemic that has felt like a stressful and experimental time. I have seen posts that range from big wins to huge losses. I think everyone has taken a couple rides on an emotional rollercoaster during this time.

I am privileged to be able to still do my job and offer the services I offer. I implemented the sliding scale payments since day one because my goal is to make my service accessible to a wide variety of people. All of these things have proven to be successful and I am so grateful for the support.

The Black community has been hit extremely hard by COVID-19. There are a lot of educators who could dive into the complexities of this, but it boils down to systematic oppression and racism. You can read this post written by my friend Monique Melton and learn more about this topic.

As a black woman in the fitness and wellness world, I want to bring joyful movement and self care to more women like me. This is why I am hosting my first virtual Black Womxn Wellness class. This will be a 75 minute event that will include barre-less barre, stretching, and a conversation around mental, physical, and emotional health.

This class is not for everyone.

I want to center black folks who identify as womxn. However, if you are not a black woman and have been taking and enjoying my classes, I encourage you to donate to this event. Some of you have already done so and I am so grateful. With your help, we can create scholarships for folks who do not have the means to pay for an event like this right now.

This event is extremely important to me and this is a chance for you to give back to the black community. I am so grateful for you and I cannot wait to have this event and hold space in this way.
